Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Well, things just got better. For whatever reason the insurance won't cover for any of the costs to repair our car, so we will have to pay it all by ourselves.

So I went through my old folders and dug out any art I still have in there and am putting it up for sale here. Some of it are old commissions and art trades, and I hope those who the images were originally for won't kill me for using the art here. I am pretty desperate.

So if you are interested in any of the images listed below, send me a note. Even if you aren't happy with the price, maybe we will be able to do something about it. I won't bite off your head if you make me a different offer. I based the price on the amount of effort, time, image size and how much I generally like the image.

Note: the shipping costs depend on where you live. They are up to 15 USD for big images (30x40 cm - 12x16 inches) and up to 10 USD for small images (A4 format).
