Now, if this isn't a motivation to become even better in the future, then I don't know what is!
Thank you to all those who faved and commented on this piece, and of course a huge thanks to =natalia-luz for suggesting and to ^Mollinda for featuring it!
...
It's that time of the month again.
I was a very angry and aggressive little bunny today. And what better way to get rid of the anger but by painting something random?
I do wonder why all my best work is created during my angry or depressed phases at "that time of the month". -___-; Can I not be creative when I am in a good mood, and NOT bleeding?
Anyway, this was painted using COFFEE. Yes, as in, real coffee. I tried using coffee for painting before, after I saw some other artists use it, but somehow I always failed. I feel it is less forgiving as a medium than watercolors are.
But today, somehow, it worked out. I am really happy about the result. And for once I didn't have to fear drinking out of my paint cup by accident and poisoning myself.
The lines were done in brown colored pencil (my favorite one, which is twice shorter than all the other pencils in the box, haha), and some highlights were added in white ink.
The steampunkish elements were added at the request of my husband. Recently I introduced him to the idea of "steampunk", and he fell in love. (I mean, he IS a mechanic, what else was to be expected?)
So this will be my present for him and our new house.
Also, a special dedication to , because she is always a source of inspiration, and because I thought she might like this one.
Inspired by and loosely referenced off 's stock: I could go on forever about how beautiful and inspiring this girl is.
The original is lighter and has less red tones than the scan ( and it looks lovelier), but you know how things are with traditional artwork and scanners. So I enhanced the contrast to make it look nicer on my monitor, and I actually like this version now, too. Both versions (the original one and the edited scan) have their charms for me.
My monitor is on the lighter side, though, so if it looks too dark or too saturated on yours, lemme know.
Hope you like it too!

I totally recommend that you give it a try! (Or even a few tries, as your first attempts might fail, like mine. ) If for no other reason, but because coffee is one of rare painting media which smells nice.
